About our Pastor
Pastor Justin Halbersma was ordained as pastor of Kentville CRC in March of 2020. Before that, he served as full time pulpit supply since January of 2018. Born and raised in the Annapolis Valley, he grew up in the Christian Reformed Church. He is singularly dedicated to preaching the whole counsel of God, and believes that the Gospel must be in every sermon, both for the salvation of the unsaved who may listen and for the edification of the saints gathered in worship. Staunchly devoted to the glory of God, he stands on the Word of God alone. You won't find stories or anecdotes in his sermons...he preaches the Word of God only.
He is married to Emily, and together they are the servants of three cats--Scarlett, Mimi, and Adora. He holds both a Bachelor's degree and Associate's degree in divinity, and he is currently studying for his Master's degree in divinity. When he's not studying or preparing for Lord's Day worship, you can often find him at the local hockey rink where he serves as chaplain for the Jr. A Valley Wildcats hockey team or on the soccer field, where he and Emily coach local teams during the summer. He also coaches soccer for the local high school.
